In one sentence

Legal route coordination applies when a candidate selected by the employer requires a visa to work in the UK and the employer needs to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship.

Quick answers

  • Legal route coordination applies at stage 7 of the Hirenza hiring workflow
  • It is triggered when the selected candidate requires sponsorship to work in the UK
  • Hirenza introduces the employer and candidate to Harveys Legal for sponsor licence and CoS matters
  • Hirenza does not provide immigration advice or manage Home Office submissions
  • The legal route coordination step does not affect the other stages of the hiring workflow

When legal route coordination is triggered

Legal route coordination is stage 7 of the Hirenza hiring workflow. It is triggered when the employer selects a candidate who requires sponsorship to work in the UK.

At this point, Hirenza confirms the candidate's sponsorship requirement with both parties, coordinates an introduction to Harveys Legal, provides the relevant role and employer information to support the legal process, and continues to support onboarding coordination once the legal route is resolved.

What Hirenza does not do

Hirenza does not submit sponsor licence applications to the Home Office, advise on visa eligibility or visa routes, issue Certificates of Sponsorship, represent employers or candidates in Home Office communications, or guarantee visa approval outcomes. These are regulated immigration activities handled by Harveys Legal.

What happens to the hire during the legal route

The rest of the hiring workflow is not paused while the legal route proceeds. Document collection and onboarding preparation can continue in parallel. Hirenza coordinates the timelines to avoid unnecessary delays.

When legal route coordination does not apply

If the selected candidate already has the right to work in the UK — through settled status, a graduate visa, a family visa, or another open route — legal route coordination does not apply. The hire proceeds directly from offer to onboarding.
