What happens when you are shortlisted by Hirenza
Being shortlisted means an employer has reviewed your profile and wants to take the process further. This guide explains what shortlisting means, what comes next, and what you are expected to do at each stage.
In one sentence
Being shortlisted by Hirenza means an employer has reviewed your profile as part of a curated set of candidates and has expressed interest in taking the process to interview — you will be contacted by Hirenza to confirm your interest before any introduction is made.
Quick answers
- You will be notified before you are introduced to an employer — Hirenza does not put candidates forward without their knowledge
- The shortlist is curated: typically 4–8 candidates for a single role, not an open list of applicants
- Your profile on the shortlist shows your experience summary, right-to-work status, and any sponsorship flag
- If selected for interview, Hirenza coordinates the scheduling — you do not contact the employer directly at this stage
- Being shortlisted does not guarantee an interview; being interviewed does not guarantee an offer
What shortlisting means
Shortlisting is the point at which Hirenza has matched your profile to a specific employer's role brief and the employer has reviewed the shortlist and selected you to progress.
What Hirenza tells you before the shortlist
Before your profile appears on an employer's shortlist, Hirenza will contact you to confirm the type of role and sector, the work location and format, the approximate start date, and whether sponsorship is required. You can decline to be included. If you agree, your profile goes on the shortlist — but this is the beginning of a conversation, not a contract.
What the employer sees
On the Hirenza shortlist, employers see your name and a candidate reference number, a summary of your relevant experience, your years of experience and current location, your right-to-work status, and a SPONS flag if sponsorship applies. The employer does not see your contact details at this stage.
What happens after the employer selects you
If the employer selects you for a first interview, Hirenza coordinates the scheduling, contacts you with the proposed interview format and time, and shares logistical details. You do not contact the employer directly until Hirenza introduces you — usually at or after the first interview.
Interview stages
Most Hirenza hires involve two to three rounds. Hirenza briefs you before each round on what to expect, who you will speak to, and the format. After each round, Hirenza collects feedback from the employer and updates you on progress.
What shortlisting does not mean
Being shortlisted does not mean you will receive an offer. Being interviewed does not mean an offer is coming. Each stage is a decision point for the employer. Hirenza's job is to make the process clear and to keep you informed at each step.
